Progest Zen™ is available in 2% and 10% strengths. Many women will start with the milder 2% strength, however if severe estrogen dominance symptoms are present, the 10% may be more suitable as it will take much less time to restore the balance between estrogen and progesterone.
How to use
Progest Zen™
Apply to the skin and massage thoroughly allowing time to absorb, washing hands afterwards. Use morning and night for best results.
2% Progest Zen™ Progesterone. For 10mg progesterone, apply 1/8 teaspoon. For 20mg progesterone apply 1/4 teaspoon.
10% Progest Zen™ Progesterone. For 50mg progesterone, apply 1/8 teaspoon. For 100mg progesterone apply 1/4 teaspoon.
Menstruating Women
For women with a 28 day cycle: Begin on day 14 of cycle (day 1 is the start of flow), stopping on day 28, or just prior to flow. Repeat Monthly.
A normal cycle length varies from 21 days to 35 days, 28 days being considered the average. Regardless of the length of the cycle, all women ovulate 12-14 days prior to bleeding. This is called the luteal phase.
Progest Zen™ should be used during the luteal phase, therefore from ovulation to bleeding, as this supports the body at a time when it would normally be producing a higher amount of progesterone naturally but may not be due to a defective luteal phase or anovulatory cycles (not releasing an egg).
These anovulatory cycles begin around about age 35 yrs and can coincide with an increase PMS symptoms. A higher dose of progesterone 100-200mg per day can be used during this time if symptoms are severe.
For women who are estrogen dominant, it is very common for symptoms to increase when first starting to use natural progesterone as this triggers excess estrogen to be released. Although this is temporary, often taking an increased level of natural progesterone can help to restore balance more quickly.
Menopause
Because there is no cycle, use progesterone daily, some women like to follow a 25 days on and off routine. However, it is actually safe to use continuously if you so choose.
When you begin using Bio Identical Progesterone in menopause for the first time, occasionally one or two periods can be experienced. This is just the uterus clearing out from slight buildup of uterine lining from the estrogen that is secreted from the fat cells over time.
